Here's the process for getting your portrait underway:
PHOTOS: I work exclusively from photos when painting an animal's portrait so I will need high resolution jpegs with clear images. If there are particular printed photos you'd like me to see, you are welcome to send me those in the mail and I will ship them back with your portrait.
DISCUSS: Once I have received the photographs you mailed or emailed, let's talk about your companion animal's personality. What makes him lovable to you? What funny quirks does he have? Do you have any favorite stories about him? What kind of portrait do you think he would imagine seeing himself in? I really want to have a good sense of who he is and what makes him special to you.
DECIDE: The portrait can be as traditional, modern, complex, or simple as you want. If you have something specific in mind, we'll go with that. Or you can let me come up with some ideas for the portrait and you can approve or tweak them. I will also need to know the size of portrait you'd like. Once a decision on size and content has made I can give you a price quote.
DEPOSIT: At this point, I require a 50% non-refundable deposit. Then the painting process will begin!
PROGRESS: I will periodically send you the latest photos of your “work in progress” portrait so if there are any changes you want to make it won’t be too late to suggest them. When I have completed the portrait I will email you a digital copy for your final approval and then require the remaining balance before shipment.

Please know that you can be as involved or uninvolved in the portrait process as you'd like. Some people want to be completely surprised when they receive the finished portrait, while others want to be part of the process all along the way. I welcome all levels of participation, so be sure to let me know how much you would like to be involved when we begin working together.
